Anti-communism was a response to an ideology as well as to governments and political systems and policies of other nations. While the extremes of fear-mongering are similar, past and present, it seems quite different to cast conflict in terms of a struggle against deep and widespread cultural and faith traditions than that between competing ideologies and nations. The tendency that you point to, of replacing communism with Islam as the source of fear seems, if anything, more misguided and dangerous to international relations. The Internet environment offers new means for these ideas to propagate -- its great that you use the same tools to take a stand against the pernicious use of this fear against Obama.

Cool blog. I look forward to reading more.
